For decades Schoppe & Schultz have been one of the leading European suppliers for the production of instant drinks as a private label or as a branded product under SCHO®. In 2003, we became part of the Uelzena Group, a cooperatively organized dairy enterprise. With our experienced team of more than 80 employees, we produce cocoa-containing drinks and drinking chocolate, coffee and tea containing beverage powders as well as toppings and coffee creamers for the vending and HoReCa sectors, for coffee roasters and food retailers at our Ratzeburg site in Northern Germany. Many of our customized solutions are market innovations.
In Ratzeburg, Schoppe & Schultz develops, produces, packs, stores and dispatches instant beverage products. We have the experience as well as the latest technologies for the manufacture of high-quality beverage solutions. Schoppe & Schultz is a forward-looking medium-sized traditional company that focuses on partnership relations, consistency and individual customer care. We feel strongly about sustainability
The production of sustainable products has special priority in our company. A well-balanced mix of social responsibility, economic growth and nature conservation is important to us. Upon request, we will cooperate closely with our customers to produce Fairtrade, organic and Rainforest Alliance products. We actively support the Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade initiatives.
We produce our cocoa-containing and drinking chocolate from fairly traded raw materials including coffee, cocoa and sugar, as well as from organic production. We rely on local sourcing, whenever possible, and focus on resource-saving production. Commitment to our region and responsible personnel management can be taken for granted.
Our company history in a nutshell
Founded in Hamburg and Landshut in 1936, the company built a new production site in Ratzeburg in 1967 and this remains to this day. In the 1950s, Schoppe & Schultz were well known for their ice cream powder LATA, which was used by pastry shops and ice cream parlors. High-quality natural products including milk chocolate flakes and drinking chocolate as well as ingredients such as hazelnut, nougat and chocolate powders for patisseries and the food industry were soon to follow in the portfolio.
Focus on hot beverages
The very successful drinking chocolate products were the reason for coffee roasters and high class gastronomes joining us as new customers; with their arrival, we extended our portfolio to include new products such as cappuccino, coffee whiteners and toppings. These were followed by specific products for vending machines which became ever more popular. We then decided to focus on hot beverages and omit the production of ingredients because our customers appreciated our instant beverages so much. Schoppe & Schultz today is considered to be a creative mind for its customers when it comes to the development of innovative products including instant chai teas and white drinking chocolate for coffee shop concepts.
